EP. 010 What It Takes To Become A “Pro” Staffer, Floating Ice Suits, Ice Sonars W/ Matt Bain

In the past, it seemed in order to be a “Pro” on staff for a company in the outdoor industry you were typically catching the biggest fish, in the biggest tournaments, or killing the biggest animals in the field.  People would then think that the pro really knew what he was doing and is a valuable asset to companies because of the gear they use.  This is all true to a certain point but field staff positions have also changed and evolved over the recent years.

On this episode I am joined by Matt Bain who is on field staff for a number of fishing companies.  We talk about what it means to be a “Pro” on staff in the modern day and how you may be able to bring a ton of value to some companies with your unique set of skills outside of the obvious of catching big fish.  Matt shares a personal story on why having an ice suit that floats is important to have and we also talk budget friendly ice sonar units, more expensive ones, how to set them up and the importance of why you may want to think about adding a camera to your ice fishing arsenal.
