When you have a true passion for anything in life you sometimes find it difficult to describe it to others because they may not truly understand where you are coming from. It is simple with me though. Most folks that I meet can usually tell right away that the fishing and hunting life just seems to pour out of me. I hate that there isn’t a better word than “passion” because I feel it gets used a lot when trying to describe something that consumes you. When it comes to describing my obsession I have for the outdoors whether it be fishing or hunting, it is no short conversation. Fishing and hunting is so much part of who I am, that rather than try to describe to everyone on how it plays an important role in my life, my hopes is I can show them.
Anyone who shares the same intense motivation as me knows exactly what I mean. This blog and other media outlets are how I will portray and deliver my progressive journey in the fishing world. Throughout the year I will also have the occasional blog about some of my hunting adventures as well. My goal every hunting season is to try to sustain a healthy amount of my protein consumption through harvesting it myself in the wild. I can’t wait to write and share in more detail about the deep connection I feel that comes with the hunting lifestyle that most of our society is missing out on. That is just my perspective but we can get into that in a later blog post.
Sound Familiar??
Another reason why I wanted to start this blog is because just like many of you, I am extremely busy! I am ecstatic to be a husband and father but like many of us who spend time with the family, go to work everyday and have other life obligations, we may not get the opportunity to be on the water or in the woods as much as we sometimes would like. You might feel like you will never get that chance to hook up the boat and hit your favorite lake when you know the bite is hot. In the mean time however, with modern technology and the internet we can feel engaged and be a part of the outdoors more than ever with blogs, forums, videos, and podcasts. Time off the water or woods gives us all an opportunity to learn and educate ourselves even more. We have the opportunity to engage with others by commenting on each others blogs, forums or listening to podcasts. Think of how much you can learn in between your time on and off the water. You can be sharpening your skills and learning a ton while reading on your lunch break or listening on that drive to work.
This website, blog and future podcasts is how I feel like I can contribute to the fishing world and feel engaged when I am not on the water or in the woods. My hope would be for you to follow my content, engage, comment, ask questions and talk about whatever you have on your mind.
Give me some feedback on what you would like to see more of or questions you have and hopefully we can find the answers together.
Just because we are not on our boat or in our tree stands doesn’t mean we aren’t constantly thinking about it…all….day….long!!! That could just be me though..
Cheers
L.K.
